PostSubject: good news from the vet???   Tue Feb 03, 2009 10:12 pm

about a week ago, i posted some upsetting news that the vet had given us about our kitten. they told us she had something called FIP and that she had only 6 mos. to a year to live, and that there was nothing that they could do to help her. they also suggested we consider putting her to sleep humanely. well, thank god we didnt listen!!! being the stubborn people that we are, even though all the signs pointed to this virus, we insisted that they run the tests on her. today we got the call back from the vet with the lab results.....she DOES NOT have FIP!!! u can not imagine our relief that we did not just do as they suggested and put her down. now they are saying that although she doesnt have this FIP, she has SOMETHING, and they want to run a bunch of tests. needless to say, my mother, who adores this kitten, is very upset with them! now they are suggesting it is her heart or liver. so, no virus is the good news, and the rest.....one day at a time. she is back to her old self, terrorizing the older cats, and loving on her dog, and keeping me awake all hours of the night. another words, she seems happy and healthy! so thank u to all of u who gave me best wishes, obviously they worked!!! lol

I'm so glad to here the kitten is doing better. I have 2 of my own, Magic the female is abt 13 & Salem the male is abt 7, he's the holy terror!! He had bone cancer & they had to take his front left leg & shoulder blade 3 yrs ago. Everyone always says "poor kitty", don't everyone feel bad for him, he's just fine!!! Still gets on top of the cupboards & even tho he's not an outside cat, we do let him out on the back deck & he has caught & brought in the house 2 woodpeckers & let them go, & he killed a hummingbird!!

lol i love my kitty.....even though she is a terror. the other day we had to save our 16 yr old male (who is quite literally 3 times her size), because she had ambushed him and rolled him over on the floor where she was holding him by the scruff while he cried. i didnt know whether to laugh or snatch the poor bugger up and comfort him......naturally i had to do both. lol again, i am so thankful we didnt listen to the vet when they called the first time telling us that she had to have FIP and that maybe we should just consider putting her to sleep. we would have been so guilty when we got the reports back and she was negative!!!
